ACCT provides ongoing support to two Charities in a variety of ways.
British Association for the Study and Prevention of Child Abuse and Neglect
George has been a Trustee of BASPCAN since 1986, been Secretary and Chair of the Scottish Branch, Vice Chair and Chair of the National Association and is currently Honorary Secretary/Treasurer.
ACCT staff provide volunteers for the Triennial National Congress which in 2009 was held in the University of Wales, Swansea for 4 days in September.
Village of Hope
Following the Tsunami in 2004 George spent 10 days working in Sri Lanka, hosted by Arun Tampoe a prominent Lawyer in Sri Lanka heavily involved in NGO work on behalf of Children.
While there George met Mr Thiagarajah owner a local Jewellery business, Pattakanus, who was trying to find funds and create plans to replace a Children's' Home which had been washed away.
The initial plan to build a replacement 50 bed home was changed to building a series of small homes, the Village of Hope was born.
George has continued to co-ordinate fund raising activities for the Village and thanks go to The Career Development Center and their staff for their support both financially and in time, to Blythswood for their support while in Sri Lanka and the Barn Church, Culloden for their ongoing financial support for the Village.
